The Reform Strategy for Education Technology

Written by : Ambrose Wong

The outbreak of COVID-19 expanded our imagination in education. With technology, we have been able to deliver online classes amid school closures. It even opens the door to new attempts in teaching and learning. MWYO, as a youth-oriented think tank, aims to build on this momentum to review the long-term positioning of technology in education.

This study entitled “The Reform Strategy for Education Technology” (hereinafter “Strategy”) was initiated in May 2020. Through in-depth interviews with 18 stakeholders from different backgrounds, including scholars, school management, middle management/ new teachers, start-up-incubating organisations and education technology (EdTech) start-ups, the Strategy examines the bottleneck in the use of EdTech and provides recommendations for the way forward of its development.
