Scotland Offsite Sharing: Bullying is not just a School Problem: Anti-bullying Policy in Scotland

School bullying has long been an underestimated issue in Hong Kong. In August, we met respectme, Scotland’s anti-bullying service funded by the government, to learn about their anti-bullying policy. In summary, Scottish government’s commitment on anti-bullying can be seen in three aspects: (1) the establishment of a specific agent to deal with school bullying; (2) the formation of an anti-bullying work framework; and (3) encouragement on partnership in the community. The effective national approach of Scotland to anti-bullying could be a worthwhile reference to policy makers in Hong Kong.
