Youth work is a people-oriented profession, cutting across multiple fields (e.g. social work, education and mental health). Transforming young lives one by one, youth workers are heroes often unsung. Annually in Scotland, the National Youth Work Awards celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements of youth workers and their various programmes. It not only spreads the amazing stories to the wider public, but also aggregates youth workers’ views to create a bigger impact. This article introduces the Awards and discusses what Hong Kong can learn from it.
